Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey everyone,

I ordered a lens from Kea photo a few days ago. Ive just checked the tracking and it says, Held Customs, Awaiting Clearance Instructions From Receiver

Anyone know what happens next? Do customs get in touch with me or i with them?

    Cheers,
    32finn

    They'll send you a letter.

Cheers jpb1974. A letter and a bill to go with it!!! :-(

The letter may ask for a copy of the invoice or Paypal receipt to accompany the goods in question.

From there they'll work out your customs + vat bill.

and in case the VAT charge is higher than you expect, don't forget that they calculate it using purchase price *and* delivery charge.

I think (some) photography equipment is exempt from customs tax... so you might be charged just the VAT.

Yup, they send you a letter, you email them your payoal, they work the VAT and add on €6 for handling and give you an estimated day if delivery. It has always been the stated day for the things I received.

If you miss the post they send you a letter with where you can pick it up from on it. Handy!

Bought a mug that looks and feels like a Canon lens for my sons birthday and it got stopped and inspected by customs.
    I'd say someone was dissapointed

Ha ha, my Nikon mug went through unscathed... though for some reason the person had labelled it as MP3 accessories :/ - a good coffee does go along with soothing Jazz I guess

What did you have shipped to you that was stopped? Must have been something nice to be that expensive.
