Yes its in Dagdha, but it can mean D for anything - depending on the viewer and how they see it.. Ie. Desolation, death (Grave yards, death of the Church etc.) :)

Thanks pal, there is a ladder at the side of the bridge so it's easy to get onto the bridge if you wanted to. Last time I was out that way it was open but that was about 20 years ago!

    It would be cheaper online.

Argos have the HS10 (30x Zoom, plenty of bells and whistles) in their catalogue for silly money, got one on Amazon for about 220 iirc?

Yeah Argos generally charge silly money for cameras. Your post made me go and check their catalogue to see is my HS20 was in it, and it was, for €430.99.

The same camera is available on Amazon for £297.20/€340.

Apologies in advance... but sense Ive a group of people with an interest in photography here, could anyone recommend a decent beginners camera for a reasonable price, Id like to explore my interest further.

I sure could! There were a few on adverts that I saw earlier, but can't access it (Tried pinging but my packets are unresponsive); but I know Alex and Martin in O'Connors Cameras have some good second hand gear great for getting into photography with!

But if you are picking up off adverts, pick up an old 1000D/400D/40D/30D/20D & a kit lens, for canon - or Nikon a D3100/D3000 not too sure about the rest of em for Nikon!

1000D about 300/350 400D about 400-450 40D about 500-600 30D and 20D I'm not sure, should be cheap, d3100 is about 599 new I think? I'll check when I'm in town in the morning, the d3000 is about a hundred and fifty euro cheaper, once again ill check - I know oconners had a second hand d80 I think it was for 400 in brilliant nick, so ill check that too - infact, if you.are around town tomorrow or during the week at any point ill pm you my number and ill show you em :)

I guess it would depend on whether you want a good digital camera that allows to to point and click but still take good pictures, or move up the range and get a digital -SLR camera and be able to take even better pictures but run the risk of missing out on the odd spur of the moment pic due to having the wrong lens in place etc.

If you want a good point and click then I would favour something like the Fujifilm finePix S4000 as a good starter camera capable of taking very good pictures. You should be able to get one online for about the €200 mark including P&P.

In terms of a digital SLR my knowledge is heavily biased towards Nikon. The D3000 that Sniper mentioned is a cracking camera and also a good one to get as a first Digital SLR imho as it is very user friendly and the controls are almost as intuitive as those on the fujifilm digital range.

A Nikon D3000 with a 18-55mm lens kits should set you back about €400 online inc P&P.

My advice would be to have a think about the type of camera you think you want to get. Think about the range of pictures you would like to take and whether you want a good all rounder camera or something specialist. Then go into town and physically get to hold the models you are interested in. See what ones feel right in your hands and where the controls make sense to you. Get prices and then compare to online.
