Your pictures are defo getting more and more interesting.

Really like the cracked mirror one. Might work well with just the mirror bit cropped.

Like the lollipop one a lot as it is a fun pic.

Yeah, it was a promo shoot for If Memory Serves - the mirror one was just real quick as we were getting out of there as quick as possible (Down the canal by the Absolute, inside in one of the run down buildings) as one of the lads almost stood on a syringe.

Feck it Snipe, not the smartest thing going into some of those buildings day or night. Even if one discounts the fact that the building may be unsafe in a structural sense, there is always the danger of some unsavoury types being inside of them or worse still that type spotting a guy/guys with a nice looking camera going in and following. Your cameras would be a tempting target for a junkie or any scumbag looking to nick something that they could sell on.

I haven't got the link at the moment but in case anyone is interested "Local Limerick Heroes" is looking for photogs to submit 2 images each of Limerick. Phots can be anywhere in the city/county of a person of interest, monument, architecture, night scene etc. Think they are to be displayed for the next fortnight in a hub in Arthurs Quay. Sorry about the sketchy details but full info is available on their facebook page.

What software did you use to give the pencil sketch look? Quite like that effect

Thanks for putting up the link. It is a pretty cool piece of software with some nice effects. Having great fun with some of my nature pics using the neon effect and also with the pencil effect on pics of my tattoos.

Would imagine that those of you on here who have a genuine eye for a shot could really create some great pics with it.

It's the only software I use for my pics, tried photoshop in the past but never got the hang of it, Picasa has everything I need and it's easy to use :)

Dave, I'd recommend Lightroom, its like Picassa but much better imo!

Bit hard to use at first, but once you get used to it its brilliant! Especially if you shoot RAW like myself.

I do have lightroom but I only use it to ad watermarks, I must spend some time on it and get used to it. I never shoot in RAW put a friend of mine keeps telling me to do so, I must all so give that a go.

    I'd really recommend shooting RAW!

Massive difference in quality, both sharpness and controll, especially with exposure and whitebalance etc. It makes life so much easier for yourself!

Maybe not the most glamorous photo but to someone it is important I'm sure...

Is that by the rowing club Ronan?

Ya just a tiny bit up from it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭The Snipe

I like it! I might head up and see what I can do with em!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,279 ✭✭✭ronanc15

I didn't have the time to try it but what I actually wanted to do was an image with the bears in it and maybe a long exposure motion blur of people passing by if you get me.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭The Snipe

I see what you mean, however it'd be quite difficult from the angle you seem to be at in it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,279 ✭✭✭ronanc15

Ya the pathway is quite narrow too! Doesn't help the matter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭The Snipe

Although, I'm knida picturing it being done using the distortion of a wideangle to emphasise the bears more, maybe standing back and zooming might work a bit better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,560 ✭✭✭✭Kess73

Quite the poignant pic in it's own way. You see the bears and the top bear almost looks as if he has a grin on his face. Then you remember why those bears were placed there and you are taken to a more somber place.

Possibly, I think a bit more trial and error is needed!

Exactly what I thought the first day I saw them!
