Missing something. I think that is the kind of pic that someone like me (someone without any real talent with a camera) could take with a quality camera, rather than a pic that shows what the likes of you (someone who does have talent and a good eye with a camera) can capture.

The lower half of the picture is what does not work for me.

You are some boyo for the spots you go to in order to take pics though. Last week you were going into very dodgy buildings for pics (that mirror pic was very good), and now you are going across an area of wasteland/fields that has some right dodgy folk on it at times.:D

On an different note, I don't know if you are still trying to get some of your pics into the papers etc., but there is a prize ceremony at the Lady Of Lourdes cafe/community building today for the naming of the new park being built in front of the church. The Mayor is to present a cheque to the person with the winning name.

Was reading a leaflet about the naming of the new park last night whilst I was in BCG watching the gardai having a word with one of your neighbours who was being questioned about whether or not he had thumped a young girl earlier. There was a lot of shouting and accusations flying about the place. Never seems to be a quiet moment in there.:D

On the corner? I had seen something when I arrived home about 12ish.

I quite like the picture to be honest, I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone a small bit in what I do, and try new things, both in terms of techniques and processing.

    Will send you a pm.

As for the pic, I think if it had a tiny bit more light slightly left of centre in the grass bit that it would mirror the gap in the cloud nicely and create a nice effect for the eye.

This was taken in my house a few months back? Does it count as Limerick? :P

You really do come up with some very interesting shots at times. Posed shots that look both classy and imaginative seems to be one of your strong points. Strikes me as having a good eye (and imagination) for promo shots, album covers etc etc.

Really? Cause I normally hate working with people like that, mainly cause they can't model for the life of em, but its all good craic! :P

    And, thank you! :D

The cracked mirror pic, and the cards pic strongly suggest that you are very good at that sort of thing tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭The Snipe

    Wow thanks :)

I've got loads more pics that I need to upload! But I need a damn cable for my external, cause mine broke! :'(

Anyone got an "eGo" harddrive by any chance?

Is the small poster there on purpose, or a happy coincidence?

Adds a sly bit of black humour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭The Snipe

    Bit of both :P

If you had changed the clock time to two minutes past two (14:02), then you would have had a nice promo pic for an Alternative Valentines Day club night. :D

Never would have thought of that! :O Oh well! :P

In town earlier with IO waiting to get to bedford row in the heavy rain:

After work I decided I'd go over to those bears we were talking about and (EVENTUALLY!) shoot em! And spotted this on the way.

Bears in the next post for the series :)

^ I waited for the kid for this one, so that it would provide a bit of dark humor. :o:o:o

Good shots! I had one with a kid in the background too but something else was off in the pic so I didnt include it. Hard to take the "hanging" factor out of the pic isnt it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭The Snipe

I like the hanging factor tbh. It helps to destigmatise things.

Looking for good vantage point for the fireworks display saturday - ideas guys? Where are they actually launched from?

    Inside the Castle walls afaik.

Get to the Riverwalk on Clancy Strand or onto Sarsfield Bridge....don't know what time they're setting them off.

I think best place would be the little road between the Curragower Bar and munchins church Ronan. At least then you have a little height.

    Also Arthurs Quay park
