Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    What a tackle by Boyata!

Not a good game at all so far. Both teams would probably take the point, I'd say,

    I'm enjoying it. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,909 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

And there's the token moment of stupidity from Zabaleta

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,778 ✭✭✭Big Pussy Bonpensiero

Not trying to be funny but that was a great dive by Ivanovic!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Shocking amount of diving by Chelsea players so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

Things are starting to boil here.

To be fair anyone who thought this was going to be an entertainment extravaganza was clearly gonna be wrong! I was thinking this must be a great game for neutrals cause it's intruiging! Chelsea's first real test and it hasn't disappointed for me.

Not one yet actually. City lucky not to be down to 10 after the fouls on drogba.

    LOL love that.

Drogba vs Boyata, lets have yeee..

*Drogba spectacular dive to the floor*

Haha Boyata's a hefty little fúcker too.
I think it's been a good game so far.

Loving how insecure the sky commentators are getting considering it's not 'super dooper strong fast amazing best league in the world' standard attacking football. Even going as far as to say 'it's almost like a Serie A' game. :p Eejits.

Drogba at least twice, was it Malouda as well who took a fresh air tumble and Ivanovich although caught, was already in the process of twisting through the air spectacularly.

City down to 10 men???? Are players not allowed tackle him anymore?

Yaya looks about 4 stone overweight? And to be balanced, ramiries looks like a kid of a concern ad at Christmas!

Your bad feelings generally result in a Chelsea victory.

    Consider last season..

Happy enough so far, city not as impressive as I thought they would be considering they are at home. If we up the pace we might nick one

Silva's been working his bollox off defensively. Great attitude to see from a lazy foreigner.

    i'm really enjoying this.

there's a bit of bite in the last little while in particular.

i think Chelsea, though subdued, have still done quite well considering this is their first proper test of the season. Malouda, Cole and Anelka look dangerous.

Mikel is also looking an absolute class act this season.

City have been effective enough. de Jong, Kolo and Botaya are the pick of their players for me. Milner's delivery has been unusually poor.

and Silva's defensive play has been suprisingly excellent!

i'm looking forward to this 2nd half.

Watching the ESPN stream. What the hell is it with commentators/pundits these days? Saying 'this isn't a classic'. Wtf? I'm a Liverpool fan who has really enjoyed this so far. I love these games and find it fascinating how strong lineups play off against each other. So many clueless fcukwits commenting on football these days expecting 4-3 at half time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Anelkas having a bit of a shocker so far. Looks a bit disinterested.

Fairly even first half, Chelsea probably just shading it. Not much goal mouth action but I'm really enjoying it.

Fúck you Jamie Rednapp and fúck you Graeme Souness, both those moments from Boyata were epic!

Agree with this, also wasn't afraid to put a foot in. Will fit right in in the premiership if he keeps it up.

Really? Thought he looked well up for it. Playing against his old team and all that.

What a sh/t game. I'm turning it off and doing something that'll interest me instead. Like following it on boards.ie as there's more action here

Get the feeling a goal from Chelsea is more likely. I'll take a draw!

Yeah I thought he would have been well fired up for it but to me at least, his touch has been poor and has given the ball away constantly.

Still, what do I know? He'll probably score a brace in the second half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,852 ✭✭✭✭Nalz

A liccle off topic, but I think Blue Moon is a great anthem to have. Probably the best team song in the premiership

and that was the best chance to score by Essien

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,942 ✭✭✭missingtime

Dunno what to make of ramires.....

    from the beeb:

1404: GOALFLASH Man City 1-0 Chelsea (Tevez)
From Raphael, via text: "Not surprised by City. Mancini did it all the time at Inter. Ultra defensive & hoped Ibrahimovic conjured something up. Tevez is not in the same league."
