Looking for a DTT/Sat combo with embedded Nagravision

    Folks,
a friend of ours here in Ireland gets the national 4 via aerial, German FTA TV via 19.2E and also encrypted analogue Romanian TV (Digi TV) from 1W. Their current Romanian analogue receiver and sub card is setup on its own in the kitchen with German TV in the living room. Both can get terrestrial via the diplexed feeds from the multiswitch.

The digi-TV receiver is one sold for use with Digi-TV. Their living room TV is an MPEG2 set only, so they are also on analogue for the national 4.

To improve things, they are looking for a combo receiver that can do MPEG4-DTT/Sat but it also needs to support embedded Nagravision3 or be known to work with a CAM that does Nagravision3.

The idea is to have a living room tv with DTT for the national 4, FTA German TV and Romanian Digi-TV (via subscription card).

They enquired with Digi-TV about receivers and while they can get models that support embedded Nagravision3, these are not combo, nor HD (MPEG4) capable. Digi-TV also stated that they have no plans for HD services at the moment.

Being the Dreambox fanboy that I am, having a soft-cam for Nagravision3 is presumed to be possible.. but the only Dreambox model that can do sat/dtt combo is the DM8000 which is way over their budget and needs.

Does anyone know of a combo with embedded Nagravision3 or even if someone has had experience receiving DVS-S from Digi-TV on typical combo equipment?

    Any suggestions much appreciated.

There's a high possibility that Digi TV cards are paired to the boxes.

Ouch.. that would put a spanner in the works then, possibly excluding use of generic boxes.. meaning no HD (until Digi-TV offer HD) and certainly no combo.

I know that the Hungarian UPC cards work ok in the fergusson combo boxes. Not 100% sure what the UPC encryption is, maybe conax?

    Seems Nagravision and cryptoworks!

OK.. seems like he's stuck then or will have to get a non-HD Digi-TV box and use that for Romanian & German TV and then another receiver for the DTT or replace the TV.

Even if he could go the soft cam route with a Dreambox or other similarly equipped solution, he'd probably still have the get a Digi-TV box and a paired digital card and then get try to get the generic box+cam to emulate the box id etc to support the pairing.

    Thanks for the help guys.
