Has anybody been to the open air Opera in Verona?

Tickets went on sale for next summer today and I wanted to buy some to go next. I hear Aida is their most celebrated one

Yes. And recommend Aida, as the opera whose spectacular staging scope best suits what they do there. An enjoyable evening if you are in the area for holidays, especially after a pizza and some Bardolino outside, but the arena is just too big and open accoustically if quality opera is the motivation. And cross your fingers it doesnt rain....

We went to Verona on our honeymoon in August and we went to Carmen and it was super.
we got the cheapest tickets €23. and the view was class, just the concrete seats but you can buy inflatable cushions outside for a couple euro.

The cheap seats is the place to experience the real Verona - the sound ain't too bad and as long as you take plastic bottles with wine in you have a good night out. Verona is deffo on the list of 100 things to do (operatically) before you go to the great Scala in the sky.....
