Sons have just got home from gig and are saying that he blew them away the o2 rocked. In their words much better then Clapton & they saw him in Malahide... What do others think... They both play guitar so they have some idea of what they are talking about, 1 of them plays classical guitar so I would say they know what they are talking about

Yep, smashing gig. Santana never fail to deliver tbh, the latin rhythmic stuff may not be everyone's cup of tea but I was in me element :D

My first time to see him live, it really was worth the money. He played for over two and a half hours solid. Definitely looking forward to seeing him again sometime.

That was musical Genius tonight. I have
2 picks and a t shirt from the crew. :D
Puts shame to most other acts I have seen recently.

Really good gig - pity his guitar was feeding back the whole time.

And even though his fiance was great at her drum solo, you have the best drummer in the world (Dennis Chambers) having to sit out while she's doing it - bit of a waste!

i noticed that also. he was feeding back quite a lot. But he was using a lot of volume and was standing right in front of his speaker cab. feed back was inevitable. His cabs where cranked right up even before they went to PA.

It was also the first gig of the tour. teething problems.

Its hard to believe that young black girl was his girl. She was hot!!!!! I guess thats what it takes to break into the seen.. Her solo went on a bit to long.
Dennis Chambers blew her away with the first strike of the drums.

The whole band was soooo tight.

One of the best live acts I've ever seen. Top class.

In fairness tho, Mr Chambers ripped our guts out when he finally did let fly. The guy is a phenomenal Drummer.

Keys player was just sex too tho, the band had that early Santana sound nailed last night. Fabulous show.

I'm sure Cindy will be secretly delighted you said that....she was born in 1959...;)

The feedback didn't come across where I was standing (about 11 from the front)- didn't notice the 1st hour passing, the 2nd hour was nearly the same as well...wow...what a concert....what energy...they really gave it bucket loads...definitely concert of the year contender..

Cracking gig. Played just about all the tracks I wanted to hear...no Samba Pa Ti ...minor gripe though. I had heard that he was back in top form and it was true:)

wow. I seen her face to face in the canteen and had no clue who she was. I thought to myself "wow. nice bit of stuff" She is old enough to be my mother!!!. I guess rock drumming and salsa dancing keeps one young forever.

We saw him in 2003 in Wembly Arena and much preferred him in the smaller enclosed O2.

We were in the front row and had a blast. Cindys drum solo did go on a bit but it was the interval so better than nothing. Large sections not sold though - people just don't know what they are missing.

    Peace and love ;).

    Thank you Ilovelucy :)

We were in Block E . 5 row from the front , what block were you in ???
All in all it was a great Concert , did you check out the many videos of THAT night in the O2 up on youtube ???

Yes , i agree , i saw Carlos in 1996 at Wembly Arena , i was in row 10 that night and have to say that too was a great great night for me , but my favourite has to be The Hammersmith Odean in 1989 , sitting in row 4 only 10 foot away from Carlos , very intimate setting , it was a time when not many Irish fans knew who Carlos was , AND cameras were a BIG BIG NO NO , you were almost searched going into the Odean , i smuggled in one of those old 110 cameras , i got these shots of Carlos with it ,

The minute the flash went off the security guys would rush down th aisles and nearly jump on you to see who had a camera lol
There was a guy from Belfast siting next to me with his G/F .and he took the camera from me , gave it to his G/F who put it in her bra LOL , and they gave it to me when we meet up outside ...... Could never thank them enough !!

Thank you for the post Ilovelucy , im delighted yopu were there and enjoyed Carlos doing ...........................His Thing at aged 65
