Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bolton Wanderers v Manchester United Match Thread 26/09/10

    Bolton_wanderers.jpg v manchester-united-crest.jpg

    Kick Off: 12pm
    Venue: Reebok Stadium
    Channel: ESPN

    I'd like to see:
    VDS
    Rafael
    Rio
    Vidic----JO'S
    Nani----Scholes--Fletcher----Giggs
    Berbatov--Rooney

I think Giggs has been in good form and has loked good when he has come on as a sub so I went for him on the left, not that there are many options.

I'd love to see Rio and Vidic start together. Evra looks like he needs a bit of a rest and I trust Rafael more than Fabio.

    Berbatov to score 7.

    United to win :D

Would Fergie play Owen instead of Rooney? It'll be nice to see Owen play with Berbatov

We never take advantage of days like today. I'm petrified about this match to be honest. And it's on at a perfect time because I always wake up too damn early on sundays.

Please come back to form wayne. Fcuk them women. (not literally please)

id actually much rather owen or hernandez start tomorrow i think rooney just too out of form the only thing is that it could sink his confidence further

I think Rooney will break the duct tomorrow, he seems to like scoring against Bolton.

If I remember correctly 4 years ago when Rooney was on a 10/11 game goal drought and he went to Bolton and scored a hattrick, fingers crossed there's something in that! Anyway, Berbagol to score 9 or 10, will be disappointed with less.

Given that Fergie WILL NOT play his strongest available team tomorrow, I'd hope to see the following:

    .........VDS

    Brown..Rio..Vidic..O'Shea

    Nani..Anderson..Fletcher..Park

    ......Berbatov..Owen/Chico/Kiko

Then for the Valencia game, we can bring Evra, Scholes, Giggs and Rooney back in - meaning players that need a break from the team have been given it.

No doubt we'll see an even weaker team though, with Gibson starting alongside Ando in midfield or something, and Neville in defence with Berbatov left out of the squad all together and Nani nowhere to be seen...

    Hmm... Bebe to score 7.

I'd like to see us put out a full stregth team for this one, maybe get a few early goals to kill the game off then take off some of the players that would be starting wednesday(scholes, rooney etc.)

United to win 3 nil I reckon

United XI - VDS; O'Shea, Evans, Vidic, Evra; Nani, Scholes, Fletcher, Giggs; Rooney, Berbatov

Subs - TK, Owen, Anderson, Smalling, Park, Rafael, Macheda

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,356 ✭✭✭NeVeR

I'm going to say 3-1 with Berb getting 2 and nani 1.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,291 ✭✭✭eclectichoney

2-0 to united - nani and rooney for me. Could take a while to break the deadlock I feel though.

    2-0

Berbatov to do get two goals, two assists and save a peno

    Wheres Rio?

Bolton to win 1-0 with Rooney missing two sitters.

Delighted to see a strong team fielded.
3-1 to United. Another Berba hatrick scored in the first 10 minutes, before being subbed to head off and sort out the middle east peace process.

Rooney wearing gloves in September, what has hapened to this sport? You'd think it was the middle of January!!

True. Magical ball by Rooney to release Berba in that move. Hopefully todays the day he rediscovers his best form.

Went to sleep at the corner. This Bolton team should not have nearly enough talent to pull this win out of the bag. I know its an early kick off but FFS WAKE UP!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,178 ✭✭✭_Bella_

    LOL!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,415 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Bolton needed to delay taking the lead for about 70 minutes or so. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Yay. United will still win easily though.

    What do you expect Baz?

Can't enjoy your own team... Hate another.

Giggs should probably do better there.

Another solid defencive display from United ! ! !

    FFS . .

Even if we win this game, our defence has been shockingly sh*t so far this season . .

As an Arsenal fan I obviously don't want ManU going three points clear of us, so I'm obviously going to enjoy them losing to Bolton ;)

Exciting start. Shame about the scoreline but I have a feeling there will be a few more goals in this one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,415 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Hmm, at 2 - 0 I'd have started thinking Utd are in a bit of trouble for the 3 points.

Probably the hardest players to play against in the league on their day, physically they are so strong and both have incredible work rate's.

Bolton playing quite well here. Think too many people dismiss them as long ball bruisers when there's a little more to them then that.

Well there is since Coyle took over. He's got their tough as nails players to add a bit of nuance to their MO.
