Photo Rally

I recently went on a Photo Rally. It was like a car rally but taking photo's of set subjects along the route. The way it is run originated in pre-digital days and there was 18 items on the list, you were allowed up to two shots of each item, so all on one roll of 36 exposure film. Those shooting Digital had to have consecutive file numbers. It was an interesting discipline and made one consider each exposure. I should have taken a spare body for some "other" shots that I passed. I did shoot RAW + Jpeg so that I had full files to work with if I took anything OK.

So .... out of effectively one roll of film I got a few shots that I thought were OK. Set Subject above each image. C&C welcome.

to me it looks like "old farm machinery (2)" has either a fake background or the actual machine has been looped and post processed too much and stands out.(Maybe it was intentional)

I would prefer the rainbow more centralised - but if you do that you make the person "the subject" and the fire-hose etc would be more prominent - bit late now but - if you went closer and lost the tables/chairs and concentrated on the mural and ceiling...different angle.

NIMBIN(2) - the hippy/peaceful protest is good - could be slightly more centralised (and could only be better if mr hippy was wearing round glasses, giving a peace sign and smoking - wearing a headband) - just to make him more stereotypical !!!

letterbox pic... is a bit non-descript ... could also be a piece of "modern art" and put in the tate or guggenheim - with an enormous price tag.

all in all - decent set considering you are restricted to 18files and max 2 at any stop.....cant fault them really.

Photo rally sounds fun.

it does sound like a whole lot of fun.

love the hippy one in particular. so colourful - it would remind you of a dublin summer (eh., not)

Would rather the 2nd of the farm machinery shots but would like to see what colour did for it. I'm not certain that the monochrome conversion captures the subject totally well.

Sounds like a very enjoyable excursion.

Have reprocessed it in Colour.
