Heard it on Yorkshire Radio and its all over twitter. Very sad.
unconfirmed reports say he took his own life. tragic.

This is such a sad end to the life a great rugby player, who stirred such strong love-hate emotions in fans.

That the precipitating factor in his suicide may have been his misjudged attempt to prolong his career is truly tragic and indicates just how much the game meant to him.

RIP Terry, the game has lost one of its great characters.

Very sad news. I was at Warrington yesterday and started receiving texts from 3pm onwards. That there were people in the stands crying when they heard the news shows how he was regarded and just how close knit the RL community is

Terry was one of a number of hookers who bridged the gap between old-style #9 and todays crop; much like Jimmy Lowes and Keiron Cunningham. He was as rough and tough as they came but had all the skills and ability you would expect from a GB test player

Absolutely heartbreaking for somebody to go at such a young age, and especially in these circumstances. His family have been through an awful lot since his sister died and I hope they can stay strong and come through this together
