    Hi,

    If there is one thing lurking on these boards has taught me, its that the boards.ie population excel at pointless detective work.

    So with that in mind I'd like to ask for assistance in a wee project of mine.

    Essentially, I need to find the identities of every Tallaght born ( or raised ) professional footballer presently in existence. Doesn't have to be too strict, the broadest definition of Tallaght will do ( Duffer is agonisingly close).

    Its looking pretty good, but I have reached the limit of what my memory and Wikipedia's powers combined can achieve. Here is what I have so far, and its not a bad outfit at all.

    GK - Shane Redmond - Chesterfield

    RB - Mark Byrne - Nottingham Forest
    CB - Richard Dunne - Aston Villa
    CB - Aiden Price - Shamrock Rovers
    LB - Graham Gartland - St. Johnstone

    RM - Keith Fahey - Birmingham City
    CM - Micheal Doyle - Coventry
    CM - Stephen Gleeson - MK Dons
    LM - Mark Yeates - Sheffield Utd

    CF - Graham Barrett - Shamrock Rovers
    CF - Robbie Keane - Tottenham Hotspur

    SB - Eoin Doyle - Sligo Rovers
    SB - Eric Mcgill - Droheda Utd
    SB - Gary McCabe - Sligo Rovers
    SB - Dave Mooney - Reading
    SB - David O'Connor - Droheda Utd
    SB - Steven Bradley - Shamrock Rovers
    SB - Dessie Baker - Shamrock Rovers

    As you may have guessed, the practical application of this endeavour is to unleash it upon the planet through the custom teams option in the forthcoming FIFA 11 game....

    I'm guessing I have missed a couple of obvious and crucial players that could make all the difference.

    I think Jason Byrne (currently with Bohemians) is orginally from Tallaght, OP. Maybe somebody can confirm.

    Ah, aye man no doubt, but apparently about 50 posts are needed to even access the soccer forum, so I won't be able to any time soon. Perhaps I'll venture into a gaming section or something.

    Hey, thank you very much Clanket!

    Sorry, after a while I had assumed no one was much interested, and wandered off. Its just a fluke I wandered back past.

    They got quite into that whole "where is and where is not Tallaght" thing in that thread lol. When I were a kid, anything between Clondalkin and Marley Park was "Tallaght", so I can use pretty much all their suggestions. :P
