Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Thanks,
I spotted that. No cure bar a fresh install it seems?

You could try booting in to safe mode and removing any troubling applications that way (I think it's F8 on startup).

If you still get a bluescreen I'd suggest trying a repair install (on condition you still have your XP disk, which does have it's uses!)

if you take the hard drive out and put it into a caddy and attach to another pc and run Malwarebytes this might get rid of the virus
i have used this method to get rid of those tricky viruses
or at least you will be able to back up your files

I cant get into safe mode, and if i put the drive into another PC then i wont be able to access its registry through regedit?
Will that approach find and get rid of the virus?
