Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dublin west commute route

Just getting set for the commute to a new job: I'll be coming in from the west of the city, and I'm thinking of using the Nangor Rd./Ninth Lock Road/Longmile Road.
Does anyone have any experience of the QBC/cycle path on that route? Do the buses squeeze you out?
Also, the Naas Rd./Long Mile Rd. interchange looks scary - any advice?
    thanks...

Probably not of much help to you as I only cycle that way when I'm on my way back from an evening or weekend spin so conditions could be much worse at rush-hour. Anyhow, I've never had any hassle coming into town along that route. The wind is often favourable and I find that I whizz along quite quickly and painlessly. I normally turn left at the Naas Road but haven't had problems the few occasions I've gone down the Long Mile Road.

I've gone through that junction lots of time from both directions. You should have no problems, just take care crossing the Luas tracks. Also, have you considered using the new cycle track along the Grand Canal for part of your commute?
