Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Claiming JB abroad

From my reading of this board and the welfare.ie site I've learned that it is possible to have JB transferred to another EU state for up to three months.

Like many, I'm thinking of upping sticks over to the UK and looking for work there.

I'm just curious as to how the transfer is administered. I intend on going to my local office tomorrow to discuss it with someone, but prior to that I was wondering if anyone has any experience of how things are done? i.e. do you go and sign on in a Jobs and Benefits office over there and receive money from a local Post Office, or does it just get transferred into your bank account direct from Ireland?

    Any info welcomed.

    Thanks :)

You inform your office here you are going, and they will take your Irish bank account details to pay into. You then go to your EU country of choice and register with their social welfare office, and they let Irish office know. Until they do that, no payment will issue from Ireland. You are then subject to the EU country's control checks (for instance signing on in UK is once a week AFAIK) and they inform Ireland periodically they you satisfy same.
