Please forgive me, this ttc is all new to me. Myself and my partner are trying and this is the first month of it. I am now coming into my most fertile week in my cycle therefore we are ttc but I also have two nights planned this weekend with family and friends and I wondered if I drank any alcohol could it affect my chances of getting pregnant? Sorry if it's a silly question but we both really want this and drinking alcohol is something I can do without if I thought it would deminish my chances of concieving.

It could have an affect but having said that, millions of babies around the world are convceived when both parents are plastered drunk so I wouldn't get overly anxious about it - that won't help conception either! The best advice I can give is to try to stay relaxed and to have other things to focus on while you're ttc. It can be all consuming so you need a distraction!
Good luck! Hope you'll be preggers soon.

Well binge drinking isn't good for your health whether you are ttc or not, so avoid doing that! Drinking in moderation is fine when ttc! If anything it might actually help you to relax during the very stressful time of ttc! Once you get preggers you'll be off the alcohol long enough so enjoy it sensibly now while you still can :)

    Good luck!

not a silly question at all.

From what I've read on other boards (I have not researched this myself though) is that studies have not found alcohol as having a negative effect when ttc.
I agree with PP's in that it may even help you relax and enjoy the ttc, as it can get a bit perfunctory when you're trying a long time.

'Drink til its pink' is my motto!

    good luck to you ;)
