Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Does anyone know how many years you serve as a Lieutenant before you make Captain and then how many years as a Captain before you make Commandant?Thanks

    Generally 2/Lt up two year, Lt up to four year, Capt to Comdt 8 years plus. but
    how long is a piece of string comes to mind. Depends on if you were a grad coming in, if you are fixed term promotion or how well you perform.

    1/Lt to Capt. is a fixed term promotion. I believe it's 5 years but I'm not 100%

    In the RDF, it is 4 years from 2/Lt to Lt. Lts are eligible to be promoted to Capt after a further 5 years. Officers commissioned before 01/10/2005 are automatically promoted to Capt 15 years after being commissioned.

    Capt to Comdt depends on whether there is a vacancy or not.

    dear God, the oficers must be bloody ancient!

    nine years (minimum) to get to Captain, and then a dogs age to get to Coy Commader - no wonder RDF blokes are slagging down their training, their officers are all going to be too old to run around with the blokes!
