Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What's the average so I know I'm not being ripped off, or is it worth it buying a key and learning how to do it?

    Thanks

Key will cost you small small money but in the process of learning you could do a lot of damage (reversable though) to a wheel.

My lbs asks for 5 euro a wheel. A bargain if you ask me.

I'd buy the key and do some light reading (Sheldon Brown and Park Tool pages give good info) and then give it a go. I did, years ago, and have never looked back and these days I build my own wheels when I am replacing hubs or rims.

It's not rocket science, you just need to be methodical, and it is a very useful skill to develop.

    +1.

My panier got jammed into my rear wheel the other day leaving a small kick. Sat down for 15 min with the spoke key and sorted it myself.

If you can get it done for €5 and it works then do it.

If your curious go to 'wheelpro.co.uk' and download the e-book for €10. It has everything you need plus details on how to make your own truing stand. As Doozerie says it does take patience but is satisfying.
