Panasonic DMR-773EB - What format for Avi files

    Ok folks needs some help here in the area of what format the .avi FILES I have should be converted to to operate on the above DVD HDD recorder.

    Also has anyone managed to copy the files onto the HDD of the unit? I know they can be played from a USB stick but I was hoping to either copy movies from the USB stick or from a DVD Disc so I could watch them at a later date?

    This unit has a FREE View tuner but am I right in saying this is obsolete here and it will be only useful with my Sky Box?
