Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey,

I just bought my first slr last week, a canon eos 500D and I want a zoom lens for it as I'm heading too the highlands in scotland in 3 weeks. I have a private photo lesson booked for a day and the photographer reckons as I intend too buy one next year I may as well get one if I could for the holiday.

I kind of have 2 picked out_
Sigma AF 70-300mm f4-5.6 DG APO Macro Canon Fit Lens 150 sterling
Sigma AF 70-300mm f4-5.6 DG Macro Canon Fit Lens 124 sterling

I read some good reviews for both these lens and there in my sort of price range. Does anyone have any opinions on eithier or is this good value????
    Or any other suggestions!

I think I want the APO lens (Think this just means better glass)

    Thanks anyone for any help.

I have one of these for my 500D. It is probably the best of the
cheap 300mm zoom lenses. They go for about €95-120 on
    eBay.

The Canon 70-300mm IS USM is a better lens, but it costs
    quite a bit more.
