Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Earliest Monday Night match I can remember was Leicester vs Sheffield Wednesday years ago. I think Leicester won 2-0, although Im not sure, but they definitely won. Missed the end of the match because our dog went missing. Searched for her for hours, couldn't find her. Turns out she followed my brother into the garage, he never copped it, and locked her in by accident. Little bitch.

James "Howling Mad" Murdock would raise an eyebrow at that naming mistake

As for Monday Night Football, Sky tried so hard to make into the English version of American Football's Monday Night Football. Just the Premiership got disinterested, uncoordinated cheerleaders instead :D I'm extremely glad the fireworks and all the other American guff did not catch on (other than the fascination with Andy Gray's "silly little machines")

I don't remember it as I didn't have sky back in the day. The current incarnation is a steaming pile of shîte, so if it was actually a more over the top version of that then I shudder to think what it was like.

I can't stand gray or keys at the best of times, but they're at their most dickheadish on this. I really can't stand sky anymore.

    I remember the first match.

I think it involved Man City

I remember watching it and thinking those cheerleaders are a bit rough (a bit like the Rugby Leagues one), and wondering why where they letting off fireworks when it was still bright !!!

What killed Monday Night Football was the Champions League and the Tuesday games.

As a result you were never going to regularly get top teams playing on a Monday night

I remember Richard Keys' shocking jackets and fireworks and cheerleaders on the pitch. Lots of razz-a-matazz in the early days. Football was shite most of the time though.
