    Hey all

My friend and I wanna hit the town 2moro nite. We're both interested in dancing for most of the night. Have done Bojangles (often dead on a Sat) and Coppers (hate it - too overcrowed, no specific dance floor)..

Please tell me there's somewhere in the city to go dancing if we're no longer 20 year olds:-)

Musical tastes would include: chart music and r'n'b/hip hop. Not keen to get stuck in a timewarp listening to 80's or Abba music all nite.

Have heard about Rain on Portobello bridge but not sure whether it's worth venturing out of the city that far?

    Any & all suggestions welcome!

    Salsagal

The Church at the end of henry street. Is a very nice, semi sophisticated pub with a great dancefloor downstairs. Highly recommend it

There are a few places on Leeson street. Maybe try Buck Whaleys.

    Er, yes there is....
Try Bucks on Leeson St or Tripod for good music.

Well... Fibbers? Depending on your tastes (it has hard rock/metal) playing, it might not be a bad place. I've been going since I was 18 and more than a few times I've seen some uh... "older" women there. TBH you'd be fine if you like the music.

Depends on what kind of music you like to dance to.Go where ever you want and dont put a tag of age on it.
Unless it is something like the apartments or Wesley's or Olympic ballroom.

I'd have to disagree with you there, judging by their upcoming billings:

Buck Whaleys is for 14 year olds. It's also a horrible place with awful music

Try Alchemy in Temple Bar across the road from the Thunder road cafe

The Globe on Georges St is good, quite a mixed crowd. The music may be a bit more alternative to what you're after but the dance floor is usually full regardless. And it's free in ;)

Ok just to clarify, I was NOT referring to Bucks for good music, just Tripod! :) And judging by that link, I think I'll change my recommendation for Bucks to don't do it! (Coolio? <shudder>)

    Do you do old ?
Old birds getting their Sex and The City thing on is not a pretty thing. Rank. Any young man that does them should be ashamed of himself.

Was there on Saturday... first time there since it changed from a wine bar.

Agree 100% with the above... I'm turning 30 this month and hated it.

Ah right. I was under the impression that Buck Whaleys was over 21's. Maybe not:D.
