Phone calls

Not sure if this is the right place, but a few times a week our house number gets phone calls from private numbers, tele sales etc. They always know the bill holders name. Also when you pick up the phone they never say hi unless you say it first like its a machine mass calling people. Anyway anyway we can get this numbers…

Have you asked them?
Have you put yourself on the National Do Not Call list?

And yes, there are loads mass dialers out there that auto dial numbers but only send the call onto an agent if you talk on the other end. It saves them time and they can get more calls in... Also has Answer Machine detection and dumps those calls too.
