Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In fairness, the FAQ can be quite daunting. I don't even use it that much (or ever, I don't think?) and I've been posting here for about a year now.

I'd imagine the most important thing to look for in a camera is a decent ISO. Lots of cameras handle it differently, some better than others, but I'd imagine that most point and shoot cameras end up in clubs/pubs/etc. so being able to go to a high ISO would be helpful (though the images will be very grainy).

I was helping a friend look for a camera before and some cameras in that price range had ISO of up to 6400 (which is quite high, but again, means more grain).

(ISO makes the camera more sensitive to light, meaning photos in darker places can be possible, though most cameras will have built in flash anyway, so..)

Though of course it depends what she wants to use the camera for. A decent zoom never hurt, but always ignore "digital zoom". Optical zoom is what you want.

Not really sure what else you'd like in one, but again it all depends where it'll be used.

Will the camera be used for nite out or for holiday or family snaps etc etc...

if you want to use it on nights out then a good ISO will help, a 3x optical zoom won't go astray either but as mentioned before don't even look at the digital zoom figures

Basically any camera from any of the big names - canon, nikon, sony, panasonic fuji should be pretty ok

at that sort of price range there's not going to be huge differences between the cameras really tbh so whatever camera you get should be more than good enough really

I picked one of these up about 5 months ago and it's probably one of the best buys I've ever made! Fantastic camera! 12MP with high def video recording, and some fairly cool features (colour swap and colour accent are my personal favourites). It's €129 + €13 delivery charge, and then you could pick up a 4gb memory card for about €15, so it's going a bit over your price range, but it'd be a difficult task to find better money for value. And sure aren't the ladies always worth it! ;):D
