Pharmacology - study - tips please & thanks!!

2nd Year Midwifery Student here - already bald from pulling hair out due to Pharmacology frustration.
Its only week 3 & it already seems like rocket science!
Anyone any tips on the best way to study/learn this module??

Erm, is it a special midwifery pharmacology module or a general PHAR module? You haven't actually said what the module is.

Its like Mission Impossible at the minute - and I heard there is a high failure rate in it which freaks me out even more!!

Sounds like a general overview of pharmacology and considering it’s for nurses I’d say the main focus will be on the drug interactions with each organ i.e. salbutamol with beta receptors (asthma), acetylcholine with nicotinic and muscarinic receptors..etc. (could be wrong though)

It’s a bit early to be worrying though, as you go through the course things will get clearer as you learn more.

Also rang and dale is a good book, very well put together and easily understandable especially for getting the basics on drug/receptor interactions, pharmacokinetics…etc.(should be in the library)

The exam is a multiple choice as well so general facts about pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and the drug interactions would be good to know.(also ask the lecturer for sample questions)
