there are many other good ones i could mention but the above i would class as "keepers"

First person shooters, soccer games, nfl games, any good rpgs!

What about CoD 4? Is it as good as 1 and 2?

sorry man, i should have specified, cod4 is modern warfare 1 - modern warfare is a sub-branch of call of duty

i've no real interest in your other genre picks there - fifa is the better soccer pick now apparently (but it's still not as good as pes of 5 years ago imo)

You can't go wrong with Mass Effect 1 and 2. Whatever you do, DON'T play the 2nd one first. You have to start from the beginning. Think I saw ME2 for €15 in GAME a few days ago. Plus, there's tons of DLC for ME2 with more on the way. Buy it new, you get access to a feature called the Cerberus Network (1200 MS points otherwise). The Cerberus Network gives you free DLC to download

Excellent. I must invest in that one. I loved Takedown on the Ps2. Spent endless hours driving waaaay too fast to actually see the traffic hurtling towards me, and I'd be more than happy to do it all again on Revenge.

Good list actually. You'd pick up the orange box, bioshock and oblivion for next to nothing now. By the time you get through them the rest will be a lot cheaper. Fallout 3 deserves higher than some of these too

Red Dead is highly over rated in my opinion, it's good but it gets very repitive at times.

My good sir I would recommend the following;

Sport:
madden 10/11. |
Tiger woods 10/11. |- either year as there isn't much difference
FIFA 10/11. |

Shooter;
Rainbow six Vegas 2 (first love on Eggsbocks)
Cod:modern warfare 2 or maybe wait for cod:black ops
Battlefield bc 2
Medal of honor (the new one)
Gears of war 1+2

Others:
GTA 4 and red dead redemption have fantastic single player stories but the multiplayer is not great on either. Possibly good weekend rentals.

The orange box is defo worth a buy and you will be able to pick it up on the cheap now. 5 games for the price of one.

Forza 3 would be my pick, great game. Gears of War is good too.
