Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why do we always have to be behind before we start playing. City all over us again.

Campbell looks good but slowness might be the downfall.

Enrique and Jonas always work well together.

    Tiote is breaking up play

Routledge and Perch definitely the weak links.

If Adebayor and Johnson come on then its gonna be hard for us.

Again Nolan is doing f*ck all today.

I think you'd even agree Xavi that its a stat drenched in luck more than anything.

The way people are reacting to this then every player who plays the defensive midfielder role correctly is bound to be a leg breaker at some stage.

De Jong goes in hard, and sometimes his tackles are mistimed. Never is he malicious though.

Lovely move from City to bring that Tevez shot. Silva and Toure linking nicely.

Not really, when Essien plays there or Makelele a few years ago, I never thought they were going to break someone's leg.It can be unlucky sometimes but De Jong has a habit of bad tackles imo.

60 mins of hard work from ameobi, considering he is getting no service and no support he is actually playing well. We cant use last sub till we either go down a goal or 70th min at least.

He has done absolutely nothing. No holding up of the ball, no tracking back, no defensive work

If you have another injury though you'd be down to ten men prudency would wait till the 70th/80th minute

im sick and tired of barry, he is so slow and doesnt offer much, slightly better than useless

De Jong's right leg movement look purposeful and malicious. I hope he gets a long ban for this.

I presume they can use video evidence nowadays to ban somebody?

He's playing up front by himself in a 4-5-1 system. There is no onus on him to do defensive work. Just to be in a good position when City's play breaks down. Something I believe he has done decently.

He is lone front man, i wouldnt expect him to track back when you have 3 defensive midfielders in the middle who should be doing it and if those three are doing the defensive work then who supports ameobi.

Now perch......... Ryan Taylor. This aint looking good.

he has barely won one header. Yes you can be expected to help out defensively. the likes of Shearer and drogba do/did it all the time from set pieces. Its par for the course for Ameobi, shows little or no interest. Ever!

From set pieces if he's not back helping then he was told not to come back.

I thought he had good game first half, won alot of ball and spread it well. second half its newc defending and he has got nothing to play with. Shearer always had a partner and ya cant compare drogba to ameobi, different class. I reckon take off nolan and bring on carroll. 75th minute.

Look he just won a free kick lol

Fair enough, but i have been watching the same thing from Ameobi for ten years, in all sorts of formations against al levels of opposition form Barcelona to Accrington stanley and its always the same languid crap. Sure he pops up with the odd goal but as a team player he is sub standard

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

    Carroll coming on

totally agree a sub standard player but ya have to say ameobi has played better than nolan today.
