Armin Tamzarian: I guess me punishing you would be somewhat hypocritical. Just write a 30 word essay about what you did wrong.
Bart: Hey woah you big imposter.

Chalmers: And now, let's welcome our new Principal Skinner... Principal Seymour Skinner!

Sgt. Skinner: I must say, in many ways, Springfield sure beats the old slave labour camp!

I don't care what the internet says, this episode rocks. :D

Homer: Bart! With $10,000, we'd be millionaires! We could buy all kinds of useful things like...love!
Marge: Or double-ply windows. They look just like regular windows but they'll save us 4% on our heating bill.
    ...(long pause)...
    Well they will.
Lisa: You all seem to be forgetting the most important thing... which is that it's wrong to imprison an animal!
    ...(long pause)...
Homer: Lisa, go to your room.

Jacob in Israel: Why don’t you try having your people thrown out of Spain. Spain! No tapas. I love eating tapas. I love the tiny portions. You don’t get too full, but you have a whole variety of flavors. Not for me. Every day hummus and pita. Occassionally once a week a little bit of falafel.

Funnier with the accent probably. :P

Why am I seeing more and more MODERN Simpsons quotes in this thread?

Because there are funny quotes in modern Simpsons?

    That's an oxymoron, you know.

Homer: And how's my little major-leaguer? Catch any junebugs today?
Bart: Oh, me and Milhouse took some mail from the mail truck and threw it down the sewer.
Homer: Son, I know you meant well, but that wasn't the right thing to do.
Bart: What the hell are you talking about? You're the one who double-dared us.

Bart talking to Skinner about Mrs Krabappel:

Ranger: I won't lie to you. Our chances of finding your children are slim to nil.

    Lisa: (from below) Hi, Mom!

(Smithers and the kids are waving at Marge)

Marge: There they are! Let me down here.

Ranger: Sorry. There's no way off till we get to the top, and even then it's sort of tricky.

Marge: All right, kids, we'll meet you at the top! Just be careful!

Ranger: Uh, actually, I'm a little more concerned about us. (A support beam for the lift chair snaps in half.) Um, do you know how to weld?

"Only who can prevent forest fires?

You pressed YOU, referring to ME. That is incorrect.
    The correct answer is YOU."

The best part of this random outro from the Tales from the public domain episode is just the way Homer dances!

(Manjula and Apu are arguing in Indian)
Marge: You don't know, what they're saying.
Homer: I'm picking it up. "Sala" seems to mean "jerk". I think "Manjula" means some kind of spaceship.

State Comptroller Atkins: Well, how about that? Smart and modest! Well, I should be going now. These giant checks don't hand themselves out.
Skinner: Okay, people! Let's have a round of applause for the real comptroller!
    Atkins: Huh?
    Chalmers: [under his breath] Idiot.
[walks Mr. Atkins out of the room]
Skinner: I know a liquor store where we can cash this right now!

This episode is on sky 1+

"The garage? Hey, fellas, the garage! Well ooh-la-di-da, Mr. Frenchman. | Well, what do you call it? | A car hole!"

Which leads us the the greatest moment on this thread

Krudler - "Can't believe this thread is still going, I started it nearly 4 years ago :pac:"

toastedpickles - "The ‘thread’? Hey fellas, the ‘thread’! Well ohh-la-di-da, mister Frenchman :pac:"

Omackrel - "Well what do you call it? A topic-hole."

Ghengiz Cohen - "A counterfeit quote ring operating out of my topic hole! I'm gonna tell everybody!
    Mods: Not so fast.
    [walks slower]
Mods: Maybe you should just stop altogether."

The film festival episode was on yesterday with Jay Sherman, which put me in mind of 'The Critic'. Thought this was quite good :)

Interesting trivia about A Star is Burns:
Series creator Matt Groening had his name removed in protest from the credits of this episode "A Star Is Burns", in which Jay Sherman from The Critic (1994) visits Springfield, because Groening felt that it made the episode into an advertisement for the other show. Groening stated in the L.A. Times that he didn't feel that he and The Simpsons (1989) should share any credit or blame for how the other show performed.
