if i cancel my policy, how long will my ncb remain valid for? can i wait a year before taking out a new policy? 2 years?

is there an industry standard or does it depend on the company?

    thanks

It's usually valid up to 2 years from the expiry date

Varies from company to company, on motorcycles it's 2 years, most car insurers keep it for 5. Not sure about other policy types.

Not a chance I'm afraid. Insurers have to factor in too many variables as to the long gap between policies

Mine said they would when I asked, that's a chance.
Quinn have also accepted a 5yr old NCB on a motorcycle too.
