Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello all,

Perhaps you can help me with a few questions.

I am 32 (going on 33) and am looking to change my career.
For a long time I have always wanted a career in the Military.
I would prefer to do it abroad if possible, I have spoken to the English Army, but I don't think that is an option as I do not believe I am eligible.

Could anyone inform me of my options (if any?)

I am well educated up to Masters level, good work experience in my past jobs, and am well travelled.

Thanks in advance for any advice - help.

    Ichiro

sorry, you're just too old. the TA will take people at your age (just), but the chances of then getting a transfer to the regular Army in the current manning environment is about zero.

I think the French Foreign Legion recruit up to the age of 40 but you'd probably want to have some military experience if your going to join them as an older recruit.

I believe that from time to time the DF still recruits "Direct Entry" officers who already have qualifications & experience but it tends to be limited to very specialised positions e.g. medical, electrical engineering etc so that may be a possibility depending on what your qualifications are but I'm not sure what the age requirements are. Sorry I can't be more help!
