What to do?

    Ok so I am currently 18. I don't have a LC.
What I want is to finish an university so I am asking for help on what to do?

I was thinking of doing a LC but I don't know where or how. Not to mention my financial status is quite poor so I am not sure what to do right now.
I also have seen that some colleges accept fetac entries, but it is required that fetac has a "math module" in it or something. I am really confused as to where or how.

So please post links and info.
If you have any questions, please ask.

Thanks for help, I really appreciate.

Please don't be angry, I am very new to ireland and your education system, it is very different from what I was used to(latvian)

Have you seen the www.qualifax.ie website? It provides a lot of good information on options.

Go to your local VEC's Adult Education officer who will advise you as to what options you have.

    Is this their website?
    http://www.cdvec.ie/
If not, which one is. I don't know where VEC is located in dublin.

The CDVEC covers (mostly) the immediate city area, the County Dublin VEC covers more outlying areas.

Go into your local VEC school and ask someone - they will certainly point you in the right direction.

If you are near Pearse College in Crumlin, they specialise in adults returning to education.

Like I know any VEC schools at all...

You're only 18, you wouldn't be out of place in 5th year in a normal school. Most people will be a year or two younger, but there are almost always a few 18 year olds (or even older) in the mix.

I left school and went back into 5th year for a little while when I was 18 and I didn't feel too different.

I ended up having to leave again for the same reason I originally left for, which sucked. But I'm 20 now and my personal situation has improved so I've gone back again (to an adult course this time) and I'm doing pretty well. I have an extra class on Saturdays and all my classmates for it are 16/17/18 and I still don't feel like I stick out that much. (Maybe I'm just really childish? :pac:)

A regular school would suit you best, I think. It's still early enough in the school year for you to start, so do a google search for schools in your area and see if they'll take you on.

    Good luck! :)

TBH johanz, you've been asking the same question on a number of threads for the last while and have been offered quite a lot of advice.

Have you followed through on anything suggested in the other threads?

The Head Office of the City of Dublin VEC is in Ballsbridge. You could call in there, but it's mostly administrative offices.
On their website there is a list of all their colleges. Second level and Further Ed. Call into any one of them and they will help you.

Similarly, the County Dublin VEC's site is here, again, with a list of their second level schools and their Further ed. centres.

If you don't know Dublin well, you may not know which places are closest to you, but ask someone.
