Diving Medical for Cairns?

I'm planning a couple of months travel at the end of this year to finish off my WHV, and was planning on doing a diving course in Cairns

Today I read that there's a compulsory medical for courses in Oz, which is fine - my problem is I'm asthmatic and its on their list of high risk illnesses. My question is - does being asthmatic automatically exclude me from diving in Australia? Or is it assessed on a case by case basis?

(fingers crossed its the latter....its only mild asthma and i really want to dive!)

Ask over in the Diving Forum. Someone over there should know.

Or ring and ask these guys www.diveline.com.au

I think you should be fine.
