Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Celtic coming over for a friendly

Celtic will bring a star-studded line-up to Dalymount Park on Sunday for their friendly with current Airtricity League champions Bohemians (kick-off 3pm).

The travelling squad features American and Polish goalkeepers, Dutch defenders, Spanish and Mexican midfielders and Irish internationals Anthony Stokes and Daryl Murphy.

Even with eight Hoops away on international duty, manager Neil Lennon can field a strong side and he is delighted with the opportunity to keep all his players match-sharp.

Among the travelling players with longer Celtic records are defenders Mark Wilson and Glenn Loovens and Spanish under-21 international midfielder Marc Crosas. Also coming is new signing Efrain Juarez who featured in the World Cup finals for Mexico, having won over 20 caps since he made his international debut last year.

“We have taken that [Bohemians] game on as some of the players might need some game-time before the next run of matches and hopefully it will be a decent competitive game for them,” Lennon said.

“It’s good for the club to take the team to Ireland as we have a lot of fans over there, so from that point of view we think that’s a positive thing as well.”

The travelling squad features several players who started or were on the bench for last weekend’s 3-1 defeat of Hamilton Academical. These include double goal-scorer Gary Hooper who signed this year from Scunthorpe for £2.4 million.

While Pat Fenlon will most likely field a team of youngsters due to The Gypsies crucial game with St Patrick's Athletic on the Saturday, it should make for an interesting game and more importantly, bring in vital funds for the cash-strapped club.

Tickets are available for this attractive fixture on Ticketmaster at their many outlets or online. They can also be bought from Bohemians’ club office and any remaining tickets will be available to buy on match day in Dalymount Park. Tickets cost €20 (€12 for students, OAPs and children under 12).
