Xavi or Sneijder?

Keeping up with the polls.. Here is one I feel is likely to divide opinion.

Right now id take Sneijder but mainly cos he's 4 or 5 years younger than Xavi.

Xavi, easy. Sneijder weighs in with more goals, but I've never seen a player control football matches to the extent Xavi can.

Xavi will go down as a great, IMO.

Yes, i am serious.

Granted, Schneijder scored 4 or 5 goals but with 3 of them he had a lot of help from the goalkeepers.
There has been a bit of history between him and Van Persie and where Van Der Vaart would always look for Van Persie as the 1st option to play to, Schneijder would only look for him if he has no other option.
Schneijder might be a better player than Van Der Vaart but for the Dutch team Van Der Vaart would have been a better option.

Waaay different players tbh, Sneijder links midfield with attack, Xavi controls the game from deep.

Iniesta or Sneijder would have been a more appropriate comparison.

Once again 2 completely different types of players but I'd pick Xavi. I only rate Messi & Iniesta ahead of him at the moment.

Hard to compare as they do completely different jobs for a team. But seeing as how I think Xavi is the best player in the world I'll pick him.

But I agree, they are different types of midfielders.

There is a huge gap in this one imo. Xavi by a long way and I'm not saying that Sneijder isn't a great player by the way.

Yes, i am indeed serious.

I can nog get away from the impression, after seeing all WC matches and the friendlies before them, that Schneijder just dont want to involve Van Persie in the game.
During the pre-tournament friendlies Van Persie played well and scored for fun more or less. Big difference in the Dutch line-up was Van der Vaart played in sterad of Schneijder who was rested because of the CL-final.


And there is the difference with Torres because Spain were trying their very best to get Torres on the score sheet. Torres was just not fit.


This feeling is also based on what i read and saw in the Dutch media . So i do get more info about Dutch players than you would in Ireland or the Uk

You are right when you say that a lot of PL players had a bad WC. Long season and all. This was not the case for Van Persie as he had been injured for 5 months during that season.

Schneijder, great player as he his, is also a spoilt little kid.
