Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Conor Kenna CB St pats
    Gareth Coughlan WF St pats

From our current team there a few more will post others as i recall them, you would be suprised how many players originate from Tallaght, still tho a Ballyfermot 11 would hammer them (scary how many there are from there).

    Keane's from Crumlin, isn't he?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Nah, keane is from rossfield iirc, played for crumlin alright as the best of us did :D

Now lads, just a heads up, there was a fairly heated discussion in another region of boardsland a few days ago (accom and property I think) about what areas of that locale are actually officially parts of tallaght:

Someone said old bawn/ aylesbury was not part of tallaght????? Keith Fahey

By that rationale, then kilnamanagh is questionable also...Conor Kenna

    Any pro footballers from firhouse?!?!

Personally, being from the other end of the greenhills road, it's all tallaght to me

Old bawn and kilnamanagh are most definitely Tallaght no matter how much they try to deny it.

Duffer was from ballyboden which is pretty much firhouse!

Nope. Different post code and Knocklyon borders Ballyboden, not Firhouse. Maybe some will disagree but I think of Firhouse as being from the Speaker pub up to Ballycragh basically.

Of course Old Bawn and Kilnamanagh are Tallaght, they practically back on to Tallaght Village.

Firhouse IS Tallaght. I can guarantee this, it's D24. My brother used to deliver there.

I reckon anything with D24 before it is Tallaght. However, Ballyboden is D16 and is not in Firhouse. It's about 2 miles from Firhouse.

    I'd agree

    Tallaght in my eyes

    Kilnamanagh
    Tymon
    Old Bawn
    Kingswood
    Ballycullen
    Firhouse
    Killinarden
    Fettercairn
    Springfield
    Brookfield
    Belgard
    Jobstown
    Kiltipper
    Boharnabreena (spelling)
    Bancroft

    theres probably more

Ye theres 4 people mentioned in the above list so far from Kilnamanagh.
    Graham Barrett
    Keith Foy
    Conor Kenna
    and Gary McCabe.

The last 3 being from within 100 metres of each other!!

Also, I think Daire Doyle is from Kilnamanagh too. Not 100% on that one tho. Conor Kennas brother Ciaran is playing football around somewhere too.

Just kidding. I was born and bred in Kilnamanagh. Moved to Knocklyon when I was 13

Horses are some beast of defenders :)

    back on topic.

Interesting list all the same. Some statistical anaylsis of the water in Tallaght is warranted.

    Anyone?

    Anto Stokes hails from Templeogue

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,087 ✭✭✭Clanket

    He's from Templeogue

Is that Templeogue Templeogue or Greenhills (D24) Templeogue?

Dean Delany is from Tallaght. I think he is part time now but he was a pro until recent years.

Yeah, it can be explained that a lot of Tallaght is relatively new. Thousands of young families moved out here in the eighty's because of the cheap new houses. Economy was so bad at the time that parents didn't have much money to spend on luxories for kids so the kids had very little else to do back then other spend every waking hour outside playing football or whatever!

Daire is indeed from kilnamanagh, good call. Ciaran Kenna is playing for crumlin, not professional but winning every trophy going for the last couple of years

Nearly sure his cousin told me before he's from Tallaght but has lived in Drimnagh for years, even used to train with Fred Davis (Shels ex-goalkeeping coach) on those parks in the middle of the roads around Drimnagh till recently.:D

Yep, you are dead right there. Duff is from Ballyboden not Firhouse, quite a distance between the two areas.
Some Firhouse heads still debate that they are not in Tallaght, even though it is D24 and right beside Ballycragh, but I suppose the debate is because houses would be more expensive if the word "Tallaght" is not in the address. So I dont know myself.
but not all of D24 is Tallaght, Citywest is D24 also.

Also Keith Fahey is from Old Bawn, and Old Bawn and Aylesbury are definitely in Tallaght.

    As a BTW
Citywest is Saggart and D24 was all saggart up to where the Dunnes/Carrigmore but it got too big and moved some to D24 and some is still saggart because the post office in saggart couldn't cope!!
    What's in an address
