    Anyone familiar with this?
Apparently it works with the iphone and also Wndows Mobile.
There is a website called squareup.com that supposedly provides this service.
Anyone got any experience of it?
I think it may be a way to avoid the need to set up a merchant account and still process credit card payments...

OK I see from their website now (squareup.com) that this only works in the US.
So the question is now whether there is , or is likely to be soon, an equivalent service for Ireland.
I saw someone in Tescos yesterday who was placing his card in the checkout terminal at the same time as he was consulting his mobile (he did it 2 or 3 times).
It looked like the 2 actions were coordinated.
What could he have been doing?

What could he have been doing?

He probably stored his pin as a fake phone number.
