Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All
I fried my GF's Creative Zen Touch a while back and I would like to recover the 40gb of music on it.
    It's this model http://www.dukebox.com/photos/zen_touch.jpg
Would somewhere like PC world be able to help or is it a specialized job.
BTW I fried it with a half ar$ed constructed charger.
Had a techy mate open it and he said the HD is fine, just the rest was shot.

    Cheers

    HB

If the HDD is fine then all you'll need is the relevant drive to usb adapter, since you have the HDD you're in a better position than I am to find out what adapter you need.

Cheers for the advice. Would rather get someone in the know to do this for fear of causing more damage.
Would somewhere like PC world be able to do this. Don't mind payin for it

I'd hope that they would, they might charge an arm and a leg for it though.

If you do pop the drive into an enclosure I'm not sure it will read the disk. AFAIK Creative use their own filesystem for their players which can't be read by PC's without knowing what type of filesytem it is.

Wel I popped into PC World and they reckon they cant do anything, odd shaped drive or something.
They did recommend a place called Passax Computers here in Galway. Might give em a bell.
If they don't work out, could anybody recommend anyone who might have a chance of sorting this.... am willing to pay parts and any labour, this 40gb of music could save my life in the long run :P

    Cheers

p.s. Located in Galway, as stated above
