Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sources remained tight-lipped on the matter of mandatory use repeal, saying only That would be an ecumenical matter before running to hide in some nearby bushes.

They're going to have some fun defending a u-turn after admitting that a lot of cycle lanes were of poor standard and in some cases dangerous.

So it won't be repealed, I'd guess. This government will be gone soon anyway.

Joking aside, I have no idea. My suspicion - and this is based on nothing more than an educated guess - is that it won't happen, regardless of which bunch of chumps is holding the reins. The DoT has had a year and a half to do something about it, but most signs - including the morsels that appear here occasionally - would suggest that it's not high on the list of priorities.

TBH, I'm not that surprised- the National Cycle Policy Framework was essentially an aspirational shopping list that seemed to bypass the 'reality check' stage, resulting in a document that only Santa Claus himself would be capable of delivering. Perhaps there has latterly been a realisation of this in the corridors of power well intentioned ineptitude.

One can always find a 'form of words', but Yes, I agree. When I read the condemnation in the NCPF of past local authority indiscretions, my immediate reaction was that it was a foolish thing to put in print, whatever the veracity of the statement. And now here they are, potentially hoist by their own petard. Pass the popcorn.
