Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

went out yesterday and the gears keep slipping and jumping on the small ring, seem ok on the big ring. so i hav a dvd of how to fix it ureself but am a bit confused as to whether to adjust the rear derailer cable screw/adjuster or adjust one of the two screws underneath (at the back actually) which shud i try first? i shud be able to rectify this problem myself, rite? it's the old dura ace, 7800 i think, the one b4 they burried the cables along the handlebars (?7900).

    any advice appreciated, Regards, D

Are all the gears jumping and are you sure it's that? Can you safely look and see the chain trying to change cogs? A worn chain slipping has the same feel so make sure that's not the problem first.

If there only jumping in the small ring I'd guess it might be time to change the ring. However if you change the ring you might also want to change the chain and cassette. Its a hard one to judge with out seeing the bike, prob best to bring into a shop for a professional opinion.

Well done - I have the same problem myself so I'll try that also to fix it. So annoying when you get out of the saddle on a hill and the gear slips!
