Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

On booting the computer a warning message tells me that the IDE channel has been changed or something but when I go into the CMOS settings I don't see any errors, how can I solve this.

Um, I'd wait for confirmation on this (as I don't want to be the reason that this doesn't work!).

But........go in to the BIOS and there should be an option to restore boot settings. May be in Advanced.

Only thing I can think of......And again I'd wait until someone either confirms to do this or goes "no, please don't do that.....at all.....ever."

chin grin, I think it has something to do with the master - slave drive both
    are set to master.

You're going to have to set the jumper on the slave drive so. Open up the machine and check the drive itself. It's usually written there.

Or download Speccy to get the manufacturer name of the drive and check their website direct.

I need exact instructions on how to do this. I tried this before and there was disaster all round.
    EXAMPLE:

    IDE CHANNEL: 0 master [st380011a]
    0 slave [none]
    1 master [ide5232co]
    1 slave [none]

one of the above has to be master o slave

YOU SHOULD have drive c set to master the one with the os,windows on it, you can set the other 3 drives to slave .There should be a diagram on each drive showing master, slave jumper settings,.ON SOME DRIVES its just a matter of moving 1 jumper from master to slave block.

This is just an example of a jumper set up. But you're going to have to check on the manufacturers' sites for more information. Or written on the drives themselves for master/slave jumper settings.
