Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Velasquez next for Werdum.
Don't agree with this matchup at all.
Werdum beat him soundly, would prefer to see a rematch with JDS.

Disagree about the Jds part I had him being beat against Stipe, the Werdum that faced Cain would maul him. The rematch will be good Cain will actually bother his arse to train properly for this one.

By the time the fight comes around, it'll be more than 5 years since Cain has fought someone who wasn't Bigfoot Silva, JDS or Werdum!

Fully agree with it tbh. I honestly think Velasquez will beat him. It was some shock to me the same way JDS Cain 1 was. I think we will see a different Cain next time and he defo deserves his chance. Was a bloody tough fight after the injuries.
That said; Werdum is a class act and hard not to like him.

If you're not taking training properly in the leadup to defending your belt, you shouldn't even be considered for a rematch.

Why does he definitely deserve his chance?
Overeem, Arlovski and Rothwell are all on multiple fight win streaks.
JDS just beat a top 5 guy in a war.
The only 2 people Cain has beat in the last 3 years have been named Silva and Dos Santos.

From my viewpoint; dominant champion who has ruled the HW division for a long time. Straight into a major battle after a lengthy injury lay off.
Do I think that was the best Cain vs FW? Personally, no.
Do I want to see FW vs the best possible Cain?
    Personally, yes.

He is just back from his injuries; has a fight under his belt, albeit a loss, and should hopefully be improved next time out.

Opinions are opinions; you could be right and he doesnt deserve it but personally I feel he has and I'm looking forward to it.

Anderson had been suspended for a year and his win over Nick has been changed to a No Contest. Appatently they weren't buying his 'my Viagra was contaminated, is normal' defense.

I'm surprised Cowboy-RDA isn't on a numbered UFC card, as I thought cowboy and his popularity would deserve to headline a main ppv. As a fight pass subscriber however I'm not complaining! Keeps 20 bob in the pocket.

A year from now or a year since he last fought?

Yeah, from the date of the fight. he needs to pass a drug test before he can fight again (in the US). And he was also fined $380,000 plus hearing/testing costs.

It's something even funnier than that, you could ring in & listen to the press conference via speaker phone for some reason.....people calling in were automatically muted but they announced at the start for a doping expert who had to give evidence via it how to unmute yourself so some fella kept doing it & playing Salt'n'Peppa's "lets talk about sex", Shaggy's "it wasn't me" + something else at the end

Yeah, that's the clip I posted above.

The 'it wasn't me' song was very funny as it went on for at least 10 seconds . Nice choices from the pranker!

I think it's a ridiculous match up, and what if cain wins, does Werdum not deserve a rematch immediately as well, cain should have to earn his way back to a title shot,

Fair enough; each to their own.

Really I only agree with rematches straight away if it was a close fight.

If the challenger soundly beats the champ (who has lost his belt before) I don't think there should be grounds for an immediate title shot. He should have to fight one or two more time to get it.

    This!

Fair enough if he was an Anderson Silva type who was dominating everyone he fought and was champ for a long long time and got caught. But the lad had defended his belt twice! And got beaten soundly in a one-sided fight when losing the belt.

Only issue here is, there's no real outstanding #1 contender. Miocic? Lost to JDS recently. JDS? Maybe, but how can you give him a go ahead of Cain? AA? Perhaps, but not yet!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,739 ✭✭✭ASOT

The main thing really was everyone else deserving was booked up. AA is fighting Mid, Stipe is fighting Rothwell & JDS will be fighting Overeem so the rematch was the only thing on the cards Imo.

Fair point, but the altitude played a huge part. In an ideal world I would have liked Cain to fight Stipe but the fact is Werdum Cain is a completely different fight at normal altitude.

That's nothing when you consider how often these guys fight.

The altitude should not be considered at all because Cain Velasquez, the world champ, didn't consider it enough and got his ass whooped!

Yup. Cain was massively complacent, only went out 2 weeks before the fight IIRC, in comparison to Werdum who spent lots of time there between the Mark Hunt fight and the Cain fight but its a completely different fight in Vegas

Cain will take Werdums head off in a rematch imo.

    What? He clearly does.
Jay has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over 17 years. He is currently a Black Belt recognized by the IBJJF. He began his training at Gracie Academy in Brazil when he was 22 and continued his training there for 10 years until he began training at GF Team for the next 7 until one day he had a plan. On that day he decided to fly to America and planned to open a school. It wasn’t until about 2 months from today that he finally was able to open a school of his own in the town of Marlboro NY.

    here's the website cavhe

The woman was in the wrong, but he handled it like a geebag. No need to go throwing her things around, he could've just asked her to do her stretches in the appropriate area (weight section is anything but appropriate for such). He has serious anger problems around women, hope he doesn't do something that will get him suspended again.

Lawlor vs Condit and Hunt vs Bigfoot 2 confirmed for Melbourne

Don't know how UFC are getting away with billing this as Hunt vs Silva 2 when technically the first one was deemed a NC

I must be the only one who does not care about the daft old bint, what was she at doing stretches in the lifting area, and apparently got lippy when asked to move.

Must be annoying for pro athletes to have these losers get in their way, she's lucky all she got was a social media post.

Some people bring things on themselves and this old crone is one of these people.

Whatever happened in the gym is one thing but to go on Facebook and then threaten the girl is a complete different, and mental, thing.

I think there's a nick name for that type of rage
