He tells the truth alot aswell..

Dana said it would happen, Conor said it would happen. It will happen, and I will be back in here to rub it in

To rub it in? Everyone who has any interest would like it to happen. But assuming it will happen just because Conor says so is a bit hopeful.

ATM yes it is, but sanction will be lifted by then.

I guess it wouldn't be that surprising if they have everything set up to hold an event there as soon as it did get cleared so who knows.

How do you know this, show me somewhere it says it's defiantly not going ahead or else shut up.

The UFC wouldn't have announced it if they thought it wouldn't be legalised in time

:pac: they book it every year.

Conor said it will happen, he said he will defend his belt in Ireland. He couldn't say when but it promised it will happen.

We cannot doubt him, he's always right.

I think we are at the stage where he tells UFC where and when he'll fight.

Conor has stopped talking about it over the last few weeks, specifically not mentioning it at the post fight press conference.

I’d speculate that he has now realised how much he’ll personally lose in PPV cut if it goes ahead there rather than in the States. I’d say he’ll want a few more big PPVs before trying to push a stadium again.

Croke park residents already getting there objections in to a croke park event. Not that I think it will happen any time soon but I do think it will happen.

The residents that live there have got way too much power though. It would be a shame to not see one of our greatest athletes competing in our greatest stadium because of a few moaners

Just in relation to this quickly, and not to have the will it/won't it debate rage on too long.

This time last year when there was talk of Croke Park, wasn't it established residents do not need to be consulted. Croke Park don't need to secure licences for sporting events in the same manner as concerts etc. That's my recollection of the discussion anyway.

I’ve no concern about being called a real/serious fan on an internet forum, I spent about the guts of 17 hours at live MMA events over the weekend. I’m just highlighting the type of high horse, holier than though, attitudes from Martyos and Naos that you unfortunately see too frequently on this forum. As I said, it’s easy to throw stones from sitting at home on the couch.

BTW I’d have the same response if someone started making snide comments questioning how much of a serious fans those who didn’t make the trip to Vegas are.

Ah seriously cop on to yourself. Only saw this post now but it's a load of BS. I never once said anyone was less of a fan than me for not going to see all the fights, just that I don't understand it myself, with the prices of tickets these days. As for the "holier than thou" attitude, look who's talking ffs. You're singling my post out as something bad, which is a massive dose of hypocrisy.

Some people love to have a go at others just to get a few thanks from the clique.

How was I possibly singling you out, I also called out the other poster who came across judging others who aren’t in their seat for the first fight on the card?

    Here’s what you said:

Don’t try to play innocent now too, as you clearly knew what you’re typing was putting people down by going out of your way to say ‘nothing personal’ beforehand. Cant think of one occasion where I’ve ever saw that phrase used and it was followed by a positive statement.

No, once again, you're reading way too much into what I said. I simply stated that I don't get people who pay full price for a ticket and skip fights for whatever reason, may it be drinking in the bar beforehand, having a bite to eat or just not wanting to see them. I'll repeat that I have nothing personal against this (and I truly mean that, whatever way you prefer to interpret it), and I myself have a group of friends who strolled into UFC Dublin in 2014 just before the main card. I gave them a playful slagging about it and we all moved on with our lives. They've been following the sport since around '08 and rarely miss an event on TV or in person when they have the chance. To be perfectly clear, I think no less of anybody who skips fights (I'll honestly say it gets to me when people miss main card fights, but I certainly don't judge them over it).

I'm not putting anybody down over anything, just giving my take on things, as money is more scarce for me that I like to get full value out of things. I very rarely take issue with anything you post, tend to agree with you most of the time, and don't want to turn this into a full-blown argument when there's no need at all. Shall we just leave it at that and make life easier for the mods so?

Massive odds to be fair, just had a treble of nate, JDS by KO & Lentz @12/1

Nate had the good fortune of not having to make weight in that fight, missed weight by nearly 5 lbs while RDA made weight. Diaz has lost 3 of his last 4 while Johnson has won 4 of his last 5 with his only loss being a highly controversial split decision loss to Dariush. I see Johnson using his movement to get in and out with ease and his far superior wrestling will keep the fight standing imo.

At 189 in July. I went down and sat in the premium seats for Seerys fight, wasn't an issue at all.

Well they haven't announced it. Is that proof enough for you?
They haven't announced any events past London in Feb.

It may or may not. It hasn't been lifted an of the previous years.
But lots of bribes were exposed this year.

The issue isn't resident consultation. The residents and no actual power really, the just appeal to the council.

The issue with an event to suit US PPV is that there is a planning permission condition that states the stadiums aren't open past 10pm.

I didn't hear about that, any good links to the story? I remember reading some stuff about the whole process before and how the main objections/objecters had little to do with mma itself

Bet 365, going to change the nate pick to nate to get a finish. Don't think he will be able to out point Johnson if he does win. No MOV up yet though

Sheldon Silver, speaker for the assembly, was blamed for the delays in passing the bill. He's been a massive opponent of MMA in NY for years. Basically he delayed the bill, so that it didn't go to the final vote.

He's been arrested (jan or feb) and convict (last month) on MAJOR corruption charges. This could be the year to get it through. Depends a lot on the new speaker

The push for it this year is coming just as the legislation period opens too, rather than leaving it to the last minute like every other year. If it does go through this year they are as well give up.

Just noticed the UFC ppv (online) price has gone up for the start of 2016. Think it was around the €18/19 mark for HD but now set at €24.99 for UFC 195. Really hope the prices don't end up too crazy like the US as I'm more a casual customer for interesting cards and not a sky customer.

You can do better than that though. Ring them up and tell them you want the channels but won't pay full price for them. You should get on the €16.99 deal worst case scenario and I'm on that deal with no contract. Worth a go.

    Well Merry Christmas then! :)

Be smart about it though, don't appear too eager to get the channels or they have leverage. Let them know you're interested, but that you want a reduction. Haven't paid full price with Setanta for the last year now.

If you get no discount from them (unlikely), hang up and ring again an hour later. If you recognise the voice, rinse and repeat. Those channels are great but not worth €25.

I got the 2 months for €26 deal there in late November so I'm good until the end of January but I'll give it a try after that. Cheers mister.

You're in a great position then. Tell them to keep you on that deal or you'll cancel. They seem to keep a record of what every person will pay for the service, so unless you get a complete geebag on the phone, you shouldn't ever pay more than 75% for the channels. Cant guarantee they'll keep you on that deal but I can assure you that €16.99 is the absolute most you'll pay until Eir complete the takeover of Setanta (still not sure what will happen then) if you ask them for a discount.

Anyways, to keep the thread on topic, any news on that altercation between Johnson and the Diaz camp last night? What was that all about?

Northcutt vs. Holbrook added to the Dillashaw vs Cruz card, according to Helwani.

Should be a cracker, both undefeated too. That fight will be very BJJ-heavy I'd say.

Absolutely agree, Sage will be going into it overly confident in his ground game, and I can see Holbrook choking him out. Really looking forward to it.

Fits in with her 6 month break she wants.... Wonder who will coach the men's 205 there has to be 4 sets of coach's. As bad as this might sound having a bunch of 115 lb women coaching 205 lb men would be a joke.

I hope it's not Gadhela anyway, coaches need some personality plus if Rose is a coach it just means we get Pat Barry add assistant coach which will be a good laugh.

Imagine Jones DC were the other coaches. ...EPIC!
