This was discussed in detail a few months back. Personally I don't think she would

I don't think she'd even make it onto the roster, never mind compete. There isn't a man competing in MMA at the level of One/Bellator/WSOF/UFC she could even hope to beat.

You think Ronda could beat any of the male 135 roster?

    Are you mental?

It's a really and common opinion. Insane, but common. They see her throwing 135 lb women and think the same size men weigh the same so it turns out the same.

Ah, I see, people are just silly. Got it.

Oh was it, Pride was before my time. Seems like a good way to score it.

Muay Thai is normally scored that way too. It does mean you can win less rounds and still win the fight which would change last rounds dramatically that could be a bad thing though as people behind wouldn't have to get the KO to win.

Apologies if this has been posted already but I've just noticed it now. A great interview with Neil Seery from Paul Dollery. Well worth the click:

Anyone think Bones powerlifting will negatively affect his speed or gas tank?

No, because that's silly talk. Hes not turning into a bodybuilder, he's just bulking a bit.

The lifts he has been posting are borderline competitive powerlifting levels.

Somebody should tell him he needs to make 205!

    https://twitter.com/JESnowden/status/667034105230553089

He's supposedly only walking around at 225, his camp say he'll have an easy cut.

I think he wins his LHW title back and moves up though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,850 ✭✭✭Depp

ah in fairness he barely had to cut to 205 beforehand apparently, body fat percentage is probably down too i doubt he'll have much problems making the weight

Was Jones open to drug testing during his suspension?
Just wondering if he possibly juiced for his time off and bulked up maybe?

He was cut from the roster so I doubt it.

I don't think he's juicing though, just genetics. 2 of his brothers are in the NFL, another in the NBA.

I think it's more to do with cutting out the partying and drugs. He's probably replaced that with lifting. Lifting for people with addictive personalities is like a drug itself.

People need to realize that Jones pics are taking in the gym after working out so he has a 'pump' which will make him look much bigger shoulder/chest/arm wise

For his size, I wouldn't have though he was close to competitive PL levels.
Wil have to check out the lastest I suppose.

He could of been tested on the grounds that he was going to apply for a license.
But his name doesn't appear on the list of tested fighters.

This. Plus the face he is also standing in a deliberate spot in regards to lighting.

    Maybe he's snorting creatine :)

To be honest there is zero reason for Jones not to be taking PEDs. They would allow him to train more and recover quicker and he isn't being tested

That was my thinking. He'd have freedom to come back bigger and stronger than before with no repercussions
