Don't even use the leg kick, just sweep him, take side control and D'arce choke him, takes about 10 seconds against people who don't know what's going on.

Boxing for me is a sport that is living off its past fame. The lack of stars these days in boxing in comparison to what there use to be is shocking. If you look at the boxing video games they make nowdays it mainly focuses on legends from the past where as mma games focus on its current stars.

Also theres too many titles in boxing. Boxing fans complain when two guys in the same weight class are not fighting, look how long it took for Pacquiao and Mayweather to fight for instance. This is unheard of in mma where the best in each division always fight and fans complain about superfights not happening.

Also mma is just way exciting and there more knockouts in it than boxing fights which any of the ones I have seen recently have all gone the distance. I'm surprised to hear it has not already surpased boxing. In what way is boxing more popular than mma?

Mayweather vs Pacquiao was apparently the bigger PPV event ever I think it will be a long time until an MMA event gets near those numbers. Obviously that fight is really the exception it will be interesting to see how last nights fight matches up against 194 in terms of buys could well be pretty close.

Boxing is most definitely trading off past greats no doubt about that. Look at the motley bunch lined up for Fury once Klitchko is out of the way none of these guys would have got anywhere near a title fight in the 90s!

The problem with boxing as a product v mma,is its usually a card packed with miss matches and nobodies and a good main event,nobody wants to see a bunch of up and comers demolish bums to pad a record,obviously the ufc and the other mma orgs put on bad cards every so often but in terms of value for money from the prelims up you get a lot more from the ufc.

Most non main event boxing fights are dull and boring. I think in general tho the UFC is marketed far better than boxing. Most boxers who are not the biggest names a lot of people are not familar with. I also think in the golden era of boxing the big names went out and put on a show for the fans not all that technical nonsense we see these days. Like Hagler v Hearns thats what I called a real fight, we dont see anything like that anymore.

I read somewhere about the pro wrassler Kurt Angle signing with Bellator, not sure if its a fight contract. Its also rumoured he may fight Ken Shamrock further down the line.

Is it likely he will step inside the octagon and how well do ye think he would get on?

I thought he was relatively composed about him in interviews I've seen.

Just recently he said on Sonnens pod cast he might have been back sooner if it wasn't for dana as he didn't like how he was treated at his last press conference (he was told he wasn't allowed attend). That mixed with Dana's recent comment saying he doesn't think GSP will be back as 'you either have the hunger or you don't, a 6 week camp isn't going to change that'

Will be very interesting to see what he has to say tomorrow.

He broke his neck a couple of time afaik, he's body is wreked by most accounts. He tried out for TUF a few years ago (Roy Nelson, Kimbo Slice season) but didn't get past the Medicals. I doubt he is in better shape 5 or 6 years away from training.

Thats a shame, would have been interesting to have seen him fight. He has a gold medal for real wrestling in the olympics and did he not beat Coleman or Hendo in real wrestling?

He most likely aint up to it now then but could have had a serios mma career if he took it up in his prime

Yeah that's all he is there for much. But that didn't stop them hinting at the rumour of a match with Ken. So realistically his Ambassador money, is just a slice of their marketing/advertising budget.

If Anderson beats Vitor at UFC 197. How far do you say he is from a title shot?

In my view we never seen a proper fight between Weidman & Silva. The first time Silva lost it himself by clowning around and the second time his leg snapped.

Surely a third matchup would generate a lot of money for the UFC.

He was losing the first fight before the "clowning around". Weidman had a really solid heel hook attempt that people gloss over a lot.
The "clowning around" was an intentional strategy on Silva's behalf. Weidman beat had his timing down and knocked him out.
His leg didn't break on its own.

Silve needs to really impress to get near a title shot. The Diaz fight was an awful performance.
