Ufc 155 has the crippler coming back and belcher is fighting Okami.
Hope belcher wins and the crippler is clean after the fight as it be 3 times caught.

Matt Riddle tested positive for hash after his last fight.
Francisco Rivera tested positive for over the counter stimulant last fight.
Both fought at July 21st ufc 149 and will keep their wins.
I say shields wished he fought that night instead as the punishment was 90 days suspension from the event.
Can't link but its on mmajunkie site.

See the article change now. Now it says its a nc. At Matt did not get a loss.
I think if you screw up, you should get a loss.
As they get caught and get a nc.
Jones beat hammil and one elbow or two and its a loss.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,327 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

It can't really go down as a loss as the other guy didn't win the fight. Realistically, it doesn't make a difference,

Jones v Hamill as it was during the fight so a DQ is was considered technically a win for Hamill (but a lot thought NC was the right call)

If you ever watched the pre Zuffa UFCs youd probably recognise Blatnick as a commentator during that time. Unfortunately died following surgery complications
Jeff Blatnick, MMA judge and former UFC commentator, dies after complications from heart surgery

The MMA judge, former UFC commentator and Olympic gold medalist is credited as a pioneer in the establishment of modern rules and judging criteria for mixed martial arts.

Jeff Blatnick, who served as a mixed martial arts referee and was formerly a commentator for the UFC, has died due to complications related to heart surgery. He was 55 years old. WYNT in Albany, New York was the first to report the news.

Blatnick was a two-time Olympian, winning a gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling in the super heavyweight division in 1984. Blatnick's accomplishment was impressive both because his opponent whom he defeated to win gold had tested positive for performance enhancing drugs and he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in 1982. After extensive surgery resulting in removal of major internal organs, Blatnick overcame the disease and moved on to medal at the next Olympic games.

He later served as the commentator for the UFC during the organization's Semaphore Entertainment Group (SEG) days, from UFC 4 in 1994 to UFC 32 in 2001. Blatnick was also a pioneer in establishing a mixed martial arts rules set known as the Mixed Martial Arts Council Manual, which served as the precursor to the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts. He was a licensed judge and referee in the state of New Jersey.

Blatnick was also an instrumental figure in lobbying on the sport's behalf to television companies, relevant legislative bodies and other key groups.

The Olympic gold medalist stayed involved with wrestling, serving both as a high school coach and commentator for USA Wrestling events on NBC Sports.

Glover is potentially out for 6 months after the Maldonado fight, when it was put to Rampage he said he now wants to fight Forrest again but Forrest is already fighting Phil Davis at 155.

Rampage vs Wagner Prado maybe? Both standup guys.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,328 ✭✭✭✭DrPhilG

    Pity Jones is facing Sonnen.

I'd have loved to see Chael dry hump his way to a decision over Rampage after he moaned so much about Bader doing it.

I'd imagine Glover is out because his hands are so messed up from hitting Maldano's head.

Glover tweeted last week his hands were fine just a cartlidge problem and he was sending his x rays to the comission.

Vitor Belfort talking about rumours of a Bisping fight on twitter atm, nothing confirmed.

I could see that one ending very badly for Bisping. Whoever won that would have to be next in line for a shot at the belt surely?

    Super fights aside

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 11,139 Mod ✭✭✭✭Mr. Manager

So Vitor gets a shot at the belt in LHW, loses, moves down to MW, fights Bisping (hypothetically) beats him and then gets a shot at the MW belt?

I'm sure that'll go down well with Wiedman.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,421 ✭✭✭weemcd

Weidman, as highly rated as he is, needs more fights with top opposition imo.

Only Bisping gets a title shot out of this.

It's WAY too soon for another Vitor shot, especially after how the last one ended.

That's the obvious one, but I don't really like it. Purely because they are the only two that close to a title shot at 185. Having them take each other out stagnates the div. I'd rather see them both get a shot over the next 6-8 months.

I'd be be ok with them fighting if I was sure either silva superfight will happen in 2013. But I'm not convinced 100%.

On paper it doesnt excite me either. Will probably be quite a boring fight

Belcher could be up there if he wins his next one, also a Lombard win would get the hype train rolling again.

Personally I'd love to see Silva vacate the title and concentrate on his superfights or take a few more fights at 205, never to return to MW. Now is the perfect time for him to move on and let the MW division build up again, since at the moment we've got a bunch of credible top fighters who with the exception of Weidmann don't actually have a chance of beating Silva. But with him out of the picture and with the edition of the Strikeforce guys the division would be pretty stacked.

    Imagine
Weidmann vs Boetsch -- Bisping vs Belfort

Okami vs Belcher -- Lombard vs Rockhold

with the winner becoming the MW champ instead of just challenging Anderson.

Ah c'mon, you may as well just hand the belt to Boetsch when you put it like that

Rumour squashed by Vitor regarding a possible fight with Bisping.

Bisping deserves the shot. He's waited long enough.

Belcher next in line if he beats Okami.

He didn't exactly squash it did he? Just said it was only rumour for now.

Unless he has said more since I last checked.

Rumours circulating that the UFC and Palms Casino have cut ties.

Didn't read anything on MMAJunkie yet but there is plenty of sites running the story.
