for all you chocolate lovers out there........

    5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE!!

    4 tablespoons flour
    4 tablespoons sugar
    2 tablespoons cocoa
    1 egg
    3 tablespoons milk
    3 tablespoons oil
    3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract and your favourite tipple
    1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to your largest mug and mix well. Add the egg and mix
thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips
(if using), vanilla extract and a drop or two of your favourite tipple,
    then mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high).
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now
you are only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or
night! You are going to forward this straight away, aren't you...

I've heard of this recipe so many times and apparently it's not very nice. :(

Should've put that recipe up for the Cooking Club some week.

The responses would've be funny. :D

I've heard about this as well, but I haven't tried it because I don't have a microwave :p

I'd love to try it though. Think I'd use butter instead of oil.

It'd be a great one to do with kids.

I've tried it. If you want to cook a chocolate sponge with the texture of tyre rubber, go ahead.

If it's 3am and you're desperate for chocolate cake it's ok, but it's not going to win any Michelin stars.

    Oil? Ew.

I'm always very wary of chocolate recipes that actually have no chocolate, just cocoa. "Optional" chocolate chips? How can chocolate be optional in chocolate cake? Stoopid cocoa.

I've heard it's absolutely disgusting, and it's also got nearly 1,000 calories per cake :(.

Lol every few months this cake comes up...so I'm gonna give my standard response:

    The little mug cake sucks.

This is the definitive microwave chocolate cake recipe:

    Microwave Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients: Makes one 18 cm / 7 in cake
225 g/8 oz butter or margarine, softened
175 g/6 oz caster (superfine) sugar
    150 g/5 oz self-raising (self-rising) flour
50 g/2 oz cocoa (unsweetened chocolate) powder
    5 ml/1 tsp baking powder
    3 eggs, beaten
    45 ml/3 tbsp milk

    Method:
Mix together all the ingredients and spoon into a greased and lined 18 cm/7 in microwave dish. Microwave on High for 9 minutes until just firm to the touch. Leave to cool in the dish for 5 minutes, then turn out on to a wire rack to finish cooling.

    Taken from here

It's moist, it's soft, and it lasts really well. You're only ever 9 mins away from a large chocolate cake. It is also excellent iced, or with some nutella on it. I also add walnuts from time to time.

    Enjoy!
