Lol - I hear ya. But test out the theory for me would ya ?????

I know where your coming from by not over taking but that creates an issue for the person 2 or three cars back who ends up conducting a dangerour overtaking maneuver. Fair enough if the conditions don't allow you to overtake, or even if the road markings don't allow it

Your making yourself part of the overall problem if you in any way hinder any car behind you or make it difficult for them to do so in a safe manner

No problem for me doing 80 on that road, keeping it on the road however may be a different story :D

I am of course referring to the situation where there are no clear overtaking opportunities. I'm not proposing to not pass out when there is an opportunity. But I am saying if you are stuck behind someone and overtaking is hard - stay calm and just wait and they will soon turn off.

I had images of you being the idiot who I was stuck behind on Sunday on the N7 between Nenagh and Borris.

Loads of clear and safe opportunities to overtake but no he stuck behind the Micra doing 50-80 depending on whether there were cars coming towards it or not which ended up holding everything but the S4 TDI's up or BMW's which seemed to appear like scud missiles coming up from ten cars back

Given what you describe above I think it's fair to say your describing safe driving

Anyone that voted YES for the Lisbon referendum has absolutly no authority to give out about the EU dictating to this country on any blanket laws imposed including the reduction of speed limits on national roads etc.

What side barriers on N roads? I drove from Londonderry to Dublin on the N2 today, I saw no side barriers!

Where is Londonderry? Its Derry mate.
