i use www.hostgator.com - find them pretty good and i've had very few problems in 3 years.

I run a "Virtual Private Server", a virtual machine, with Dreamhost. You get full control of the box so can do pretty much what you like with it, and can very the resource allocation, and so the cost, as you need it. Starts at 15USD/month for 300MB.

i use network solutions for a lot of stuff, very good, 24x7 phone support.

Yes, the cPanel is nice and it's constantly being developed.

Note that that it's great to have unlimited bandwidth/storage but your still on a shared server. You don't have unlimited resources so if you site has high traffic then it could get pretty slow.

Sorry guys, we won't discuss hosting providers (US, Irish, or otherwise) on boards because of the debacle that closed down the original forum for discussion of that topic (hosting providers, it transpires, dislike statements like "A is better than B because of X, Y and Z").
