O'Hara's Irish Red Ale - available in all Tesco stores.

    Aldi's Finest Irish Ale

Both brewed in Ireland, readily available, and most importantly - lovely to drink.

Taste is quite subjective ... It would help if you could tell people what you like currently.

    The Crystal in particular.

If you're going to go for a weiss then I reckon Weihenstephan is the best you can get here. Any of the ones I've tried are really outstanding but they sell the hefe weiss in Tesco so that's the easiest to get.

If you can find somewhere that sells the Vitus version though I'd definitely recommend that. mmm vitus...

It depends whether your into stout, ale or lager, but there is a range of around 100 - 150 different good quality beers in the good off licenses, I like hoppy ales myself so love Sierra Nevada, Brooklyn Brewery and Williams ipa's. I've been trying 1 or 2 new beers most weeks for the last 3 yrs or so. Unlike 20 years ago there's no excuses for drinking crap like budweiser or coors anymore. Enjoy your exploration.

Innis and Gunne available in Tesco and the Off Licence on the luas line close to Sandyford (no idea of the name) bout €5 a bottle but worth it. its aged in old whiskey barrels. Its a 1 or 2 beer affair not an all night drinking one.

    Duvel!
About €1.95 a bottle in Tesco. It's the beer that started my interest in beer, if you know what I mean. My first, and still my favorite.
