Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

And its attitudes like that which is everywhere on BOARDS that is virtually putting the finishing touches to the hole that the government dug for us. We need to have a little less anger, forget about the politicians and bankers who f..kd up the country and start rebuilding it ourselves and being a little more positive instead of getting constantly worked up about stupid things like how much Ryan Tubridy and Pat Kenny earns. Holy Jesus, that sort of small mindedness is exactly what we dont need now.

Nope. What is 'virtually putting the finishing touches to the hole that the government has dug us' is the fact they are continuing to dig the hole even deeper and that there are media cheerleaders who support them and people who hang on their every word and support this.
How about you actually look into what is happening; sticking your head in the sand and whistling a happy tune will ensure that we only get more of the same.

Ok, this show has become so predictable.
1st guest= Hector (who probably has a book signing or some new show)
    **************rubbish musical act********************
2nd guest= Parents of a terminally ill child/someone in the audience who is either sick themselves or has something else horrible happen to them.
    **************Break******************************
3rd guest= Chris De Burgh (Also has some book/cd out)
    **************Rubbish musical act********************
4th guest= Katherine Lynch (new show starting or something)
    **************Break******************************
    5th guest= political/economical dribble from a panel

Alot more breaks i know, but it has become so predictable at this stage.

    Thats very sad:(
I think its just so many of us have things going on, we need some kind of relief. As much as people like this can give us hope, educate us, make us realise that we haven't got it as bad as some and inspire us, i think DLB shouldn't be the guy presenting these issues every Friday night, he lacks sensitivity.

I believe the survival rates for the non-Hodgkins variety are less i.e. it's the worse of the two.

And moaning about how much Ryan Tubridy gets paid is not going to change things either. All I am saying is that, I have given up on the self serving politicians. We aint going to have an election anytime soon so in the meantime. we need to get up off our own arses and start trying to make things happen locally. Can you imagine if the Chile mine thing happened here. They would be dead because there is so much bitterness in this country, there would probably be people saying leave them there, it was their own fault for going down!!

Yes but how can the man/woman on the street change things. That is what is so frustrating. Our country has been ruined by the F'ers and guess what they are still there milking the ****e out of us. Meantime we can shrivel up and die or keep the head down. Oh and before the onslaught comes I do vote but do NOT vote FF, never have.

Perfectly summed up, it is no longer the show it was. There was always somebody on you'd be glued to. Those days are gone. I only watch hoping since ryan started there's been a temporary blip........i hoped! Hector was great but is obviously holding back and towing the line cos of the prat who's interviewing him. Late Late was a friday night familys viewing but no longer. A disgrace so far. Ryan Tubridy has no affinity with anyone who's ever been on.

Of course people need to be positive; that goes without saying, no matter what the situation.
But accepting what is happening and telling people not to rock the boat isn't being positive; it's being apathetic in the case of most and it's done in order to prop up the status quo in the case of Tubridy and his ilk.
Commenting on the need for change, with regards Tubridy's ludicrous salary amongst other things, is not being negative.
It's being positive and desiring change.

First Friday back here in months, horrible show, something about sitting behind a desk doesn't invite the guests to open up during chats.
It works for comedic elements and fluffy entertainment but for serious causes its just weird.

The Late Late heyday was in the 60s, 70s and 80s. The show had got crap by the 90s even with gaybo there. It should have been axed when gaybo retired.
